Update #2

Isabelle received a healthy bill of health from a veterinarian on Friday in addition to receiving her vaccines. She's being boarded in a kennel, which can be hard a young, active dog, but is for the best since she has not yet been spayed. She's getting plenty of play time, and everyone who interacts with her comments on how sweet and loving she is. I hope to have enough money raised shortly to have her spayed and placed in her forever home!

More Info

Isabelle is a sweet little English Staffordshire terrier [mix] who was found wandering the streets of the California central valley on Thursday 3/6/14. I work at a veterinary hospital and see entirely way too many animals hit by cars in this area, so I have taken her home for safe keeping. Unable to locate her family, donations are needed for her to have a veterinary exam, vaccines, heart worm test and heartworm/flea prevention as well as a spay surgery. I would then love to be able to find this cute, sweet girl her forever home.

I have not surrendered her to our local animal shelters as they are extremely over run and her chances of making it out are slim.

If we are to pass my goal for the funds needed for Isabelle's care and treatment I will use the remaining money to help the many other animals who come into my veterinary hospital and need medical care, but whose guardians lack the funds to help them.

Izzy's journey

Isabelle came to my veterinary hospital Thursday night when some good sam's founder her wandering the streets of Turlock CA. They brought her in hoping she might be microchipped, but no luck. The central valley is financially strapped and our animal control officers and shelters have felt it. With no where to take the pup until the morning the couple said they would be forced to let her off leash to roam the streets again. I couldn't let that happen - we see entirely way too many animals hit by cars in this area, so I said I would take her home for the night and take her to the pound the next day in hopes of reuniting her with her family. An hour later an animal control officer came in with a dog who had been hit by a car, when I asked him what her chances of leaving the pound were he said slim to none.
I've named her Isabelle [or Izzy] and she needs an exam with a veterinarian, vaccines [since we don't know if she's ever had any], a heartworm test so that she can be started on heartworm preventative and a spay since she has not yet been fixed.
She is a petite young girl, full of love and energy and is looking for her forever home!
