Ironman for Special Olympics

More Info

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page for Special Olympics! This July I will be racing Ironman Lake Placid and am doing it in part to raise money for Special Olympics in the New River Valley.  An Ironman is a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and full marathon (26.2 mile) run.  This is my first Ironman and I’m hoping to break all of my previous fundraising efforts as well as my personal endurance records!  Since high school I've been involved in Special Olympics through various organizations and in college my fraternity's philanthropy benefited the Area 9 chapter near Virginia Tech.  During my time in college I got to know some of the athletes we sponsored personally and they were always grateful for the opportunity to compete at the local and even national level.  Last year alone my fraternity raised close to $50,000 and are hoping to exceed that this year.  What better way to raise money for athletes to compete than by doing my own competition? Please help me reach my goal and more importantly help support some incredible athletes! If anyone prefers to send money via Venmo my handle is @Paul-Ellington
