From Mackenzie Danger Irwin

I’m raising money to help the village that was affected by the earthquake. I am working with my guides and my friends who live in the area to support them in rebuilding.

Update #2

Hello everyone!

I apologize for the radio silence, but I have an update from my friends in Lombok.

The people of Northern Lombok are still experiencing after shocks as strong as 4.0 magnitude and as recently as Monday September 3rd. On Sunday September 2nd they had a 5.2 magnitude quake. As a result, they are still unable to begin rebuilding their homes, and are still living in camps. Many of them have been living in these camps since July 29th.

We had some delays in sending them the second round of donations, but once they went through my guides purchased supplies for their villages. Your donations have supplied the Northern Lombok community with nutritious food and clean water, tarps for shelters, clean clothes and towels, diaper supplies for the babies, and some treats for the local children. They are so grateful for the support you have given them, and I cannot emphasize enough the impact your donations have on my friends in Lombok. They are blown away by the fact that people like you care about them. Thank you for making all of this possible!

More Info

As many of you already know I was caught at the top of Mount Rinjani when the 6.4 earthquake hit the island of Lombok. My guides and porters were among those who lost their homes in the quake. Today I visited with my guides at their home village and saw first hand their homes that are completely destroyed. I want to raise some money to help them rebuild their homes. Anything raised on this page will be given to my friends in the village. Thank you for any support you can give.

Update #1

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for your support! I wanted to provide an update.

I wanted to relay this message from Jul himself:

"Firstly, we would like to deliver a universe bunches of thanks to you and others who gave donations. I could purchase 200kg rice with that money along with salted fish and drinking water. I shared it with 164 families.

Thanks a lot for all of your help. We have no words to represent our happiness. I, on behalf of those people whom you have helped, deliver a very huge thanks to all of you. Things you did for us are really really meaningful.
Regards,
Jul"

My friends and the people in their village are still living in the temporary camps and the food that is being provided is not very nutritious. It is mostly ramen noodles and is making a lot of them sick.

They are still experiencing after shocks, which has put a hold on their ability to rebuild. Your support is invaluable and there is overwhelming gratitude coming from them.

Thank you for continuing to make this happen. <3
