More Info

I am a strong woman who is trying to stand on my own 2 feet! I am not one to give up or lose hope. I do not like asking for handouts or donations but within the last year I have learnt that sometimes we all hit a bump or two in the road & it's okay to ask for help once in a while. I came across a few curve balls because of some personal ordeals. I won't get too in-depth about it, but because of a bad scenario my husband (we are now separated) put me in, I had no choice but to become homeless. It took me a few weeks but eventually I was able to come up with $ to get an apartment. But because I had to put every dime towards a new apartment & everything that comes along with it, I became very behind in bills. With the cost of living going up during all of this, that certainly has not helped my situation. I do not make a lot & I do not receive government assistance. I have called 211 (and many resources) to try and receive any kind of help to get me on a more stable financial path but unfortunately I do not qualify for assistance because according to the income guidelines I "make to much", even though in reality I don't. So I am genuinely asking for help with getting ahead on 1 month's rent, to give me a chance to catch up & prevent things from getting shut off or losing things (which would only make my situation worse). I do not want to become homeless again, that is my biggest fear. Also, outside of rent I would use any extra $ for food. My rent amount is $575/month. ** Thank you, I appreciate any generosity or prayers!!  .... I would like to add one more thing, if anyone out there is in a toxic relationship or marriage, please do not be afraid to reach out for help! The thought of being alone can be scary but I promise it's much better than being in a toxic situation! Don't be afraid to walk away. Everyone deserves respect. I personally had to learn the hard way but I'd rather be alone struggling than with someone who treats me terribly. It doesn't matter if the abuse is physical / mental / emotional, no one deserves such treatment.

Update #1

Hi everyone! I just wanted to give a quick update on my situation. I'm still struggling, but I'm working as much as I can. It's been really tough but I know that if I give up I will end up back at square one. I've busted my butt to be where I'm at right now, so even if I'm still struggling, I'm still thankful that I've come this far even if it's not much because to me it's a lot! I pray that one day I will get ahead and not have to worry everyday. I will continue to keep faith. In the meantime, I'm going to continue to work hard and eventually everything will fall into place.
