COVID has been financially cataclysmic. We're fighting to keep providing nutrition and medical triaging to families. We need your support to ensure we are able to keep these life-saving and making programs.
As many of you know or can imagine the impact of COVID-19 has been cataclysmic for IAPA financially. We were unable to hold our Gala despite paying for and anticipating the event both as an opportunity to celebrate those championing our cause but also as our primary fundraising opportunity. We also had to cancel our 2020 Student Abroad Internship Program which was another financial hit that also stifled our ability to reach folks in Chennai with our curriculum.
Despite these hardships, IAPA has endeavored to provide education made accessible virtually and via other responsible outlets. We also have continued our other programs in Chennai which provide both nutrition and medical triaging for families in our care.
We have had to make some tough decisions including scaling back and reducing our small overhead costs even further. That being said, we are fighting to keep our programs providing nutrition and medical aid. We could not imagine telling the children and families we provide medical triaging and nutrition services for in Chennai, that we can no longer support them. Today we are calling upon our closest friends and family to help support us and ensure we are able to keep these families supported. This is particularly significant given pandemic, our programs and measures are life-saving and making.
We appreciate all of your support and are grateful that we have such a strong and supportive community who we know can band together and help us to continue the incredible work we are doing. Thank you.
