Hey! It’s me, Curtis Wheat! From TikTok? Remember? No? Well, fair enough. There are some amazing videos that address mental illness, but what I need right now is more than just being funny and that’s where you come in!
Hey! It’s me, Curtis Wheat! From TikTok? Remember? No? Well, fair enough. There are some amazing videos that address mental illness, but what I need right now is more than just being funny and that is compassion and support. That’s where you come in.
I am one of the one in 5 Americans that have issues with mental health (I have Bipolar and ADHD) but without support to get care, food, and shelter, I cannot maintain until the trial. Yes I said trial. And no, I'm not the one in trouble.
I'm the one that was terminated from my place of employment for simply giving my HR person a private notice asking for reasonable accommodations.I was simply asking for time after 5:00 PM to complete some of my tasks to help compensate for my ADHD. It was actually a simple request as I was salaried, and it would not have cost the company any extra capital whatsoever. Two days after giving HR my letter from my doctor I had a coworker roar at me in the plant and told me to get my ADHD under control. How would he have known when no one in the company was ever made aware of my condition. Within the next few weeks I was given my first write up for making a mistake and then terminated. When I was terminated I noticed online that my job had been listed 9 days before I was ever given my write-up and just a few days after I was given the notice from my doctor. I had an employee even tell me that they were nervous being around me once they found out.
Now over a year later I have lost my home, I have lost my car, I’ve lost my job, and now my family. I have nothing left. I’m not even sure where I will lay my head to sleep or what meal I will eat next.
I need your support so that i can last and fight the good fight!
