My friend lives in New Orleans with her old grandparents who's been taking care of her since she lost her parents. Hurricane Ida came and took away the home they had with it, it also took the little material possession. Now they have to rebuild.
She said and I quote
"Thanks to the little genuine helpers around, temporary shelter Was provided, disaster debris were picked, we weren't given a generator because we are temporarily sheltered". She added ; "But the helping out the city thing has turned into a competition than compassion. many will come to question and film us in the name of helping the city even though their intention is directly opposite."
One of the crazy experience she's had; My friend and her family were filmed and questioned by some entities who claimed to have come to encourage the city and let them know they are not alone. Few days later she got online and saw the video with the caption ".... We donated some cash and helped the family start their rebuild....".
She decided to only seek aid from Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema)
But The family had applied for aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) last time and been rejected. Another initial application after Ida had also been rejected too, despite the complete decimation.
3 weeks old plus some days (After Ida), my friend and the poor grandparents are still helpless.
Please help them rebuild.
