You must have come across several suggestions online. While some may be good at cleaning the carpet, the back of the carpet may be damaged. You have to be careful with that. I have tried a few of these suggestions myself and based on my experience, I have outlined the ways to remove slime from the carpet that offer the best results.

Vinegar with Lime: Of the different options available, this is one of the best in my opinion. Here’s how you can go about cleaning your carpet of slime.

  • Vinegar: Vinegar can be used with baking soda to remove slime.

One alternative I tried and found yielding better results was to eliminate the baking soda in the above process and use only the warm water plus vinegar mix. If the slime was dry before you started, you can use the vacuum to suck out as much of the dry slime particles as you can.

  • Using Ice Cubes: Another effective way to clean slime from the carpet is to place some ice cubes on the affected portion and leave it for 15-20 minutes. This is quite effective if the slime spill is fresh and has not dried yet. Remove the ice cubes and scrape off the slime using a spoon. Once the carpet is dry, you can vacuum it. Note that this method is only useful if the slime has just fallen on the carpet and you can attend to it at once.

  • The Regular Carpet Cleaning Liquid: You can try the regular carpet cleaning liquid you may have in the house. Pour the cleaner in the affected area and allow it to soak for a few minutes. Take a sponge and dip it in warm water and scrub the slime off without damaging the carpet threads. You may have to keep refreshing the sponge. Either clean it thoroughly before repeating the process or use two different sponges. You may find the soap in the carpet cleaner leaving suds. You have to use an old kitchen towel to soak them up. Once the carpet is dry, you can vacuum and see if the cleaning has been perfect.

If none of these works, you may have to call in a specialist carpet cleaning pleasanton agency to do the job for you.
