I have been asked to mentor/ be a cheerleader for at least one or two mentees. The mentees would be youth without parents. I want to make sure I can fulfill all requirements no doubt in my mind before I commit.

I am looking for sponsorship for mentoring youth in the Austin area. Mentors need to do things like treat their mentees to coffee, meals, and small gifts. Being on a tight budget financially, but a generous budget emotionally, I am making myself available to help youth by being a cheerleader for those that might not have one.
Everyone remembers being a kid and how much it meant to have someone in the stands at your football game (or whatever the setting was for when it was your time to shine). I imagine having a person that cares about whether or not one succeeds may influence whether or not one participates in extracurricular activities.
I will be meeting with a mentee 2-4 times a month. I was told the commitment is for a year, but I imagine something like this would extend until the mentee graduates...from college...and beyond.
This is also something that motivates me to be a self sufficient person. I started coaching gymnastics when I was a freshman in high school. I learned that coaching helped my personal execution. Either from subconsciously striving harder for perfection to set an example. Lead by example. Show don't tell. No one wants to be labeled a hypocrite. I am also open to advice/ ideas on activities/lessons.
