HOODsisters: Honoring our Origins, Ourselves, and our Dreams
HOODsisters is a group of womyn from the northeast San Fernando Valley dedicated to creating awareness through public art. We plan to transform our hoods into beautiful spaces for healing and self-empowerment.
We are raising funds to cover the costs of necessary tools and supplies, such as paints, brushes, scaffolds, ladders and city application fees. We are starting from scratch and asking our communities to support our efforts.
Our first collective mural is scheduled to start March 8th, International Womyn’s Day. We will honor our origins and paint a mural representing a native warrior womyn.
Please support our vision as we continue to honor ourselves and our dreams.
The HOODsisters Vision
HOODsisters is an all-womyn and womyn-identified crew dedicated to creating awareness through public art. As community members, we hope to transform our hoods into beautiful spaces for healing and self-empowerment. Our stories will build a foundation grounded in cultural roots and create visions for better tomorrows.
