I am raising money to stay in my hotel until I find an apartment in Baton Rouge, furniture, pain medication for my cancer, and food. Eventually, I hope to travel to California to see my grandchildren.

My name is Blaze Franklin. I am 67 years old and last year, I was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. Shortly after my diagnosis, my mother passed away and I was left without a home. Since then, I've been surviving off my savings and SSI payments and living in a low-rent hotel with no family or friends around to support me. My hotel costs exceed my monthly income and I am running low on savings. I am scared that I will be out on the street soon. I am raising money to help me stay in this hotel while I look for an apartment here in Baton Rouge. When I do find an apartment, I will need money for furniture. In particular, I will need money for a nice mattress as I spend most of my days in bed. Eventually, I would like to make my way to California to see my grandchildren.
I am right on the edge of homelessness right now. Anything you can give would mean so much to me.
