Homeless dogs need you

More Info

Hello animal lovers,

We are a team of volunteers that are passionate about helping animals in 3rd world countries. The El Santuario Canino de Gustavo in my home town of Ecuador has reached a point where there are more dogs than they can handle and are in desperate need of our help.

Gustavo, the founder of this sanctuary, traded in his suit and tie as a lawyer to follow his passion. He has spent the last 17 years dedicating his life to helping stray, unwanted, and abused dogs.

The sanctuary has about 250 dogs, and he is the primary caregiver along with one permanent volunteer Consuelo. His sanctuary lacks food, a place to sleep for him and the dogs, lacks medical attention, but he does anything in his power to keep those dogs alive. That includes commuting 40 min away (each way) to be able to ask for leftovers for the dogs in the closest city local market. No matter how tough the days get, he is always there and would never abandon these dogs.

Unfortunately, our country does not have shelters where the dogs will be fed or have a roof over their head. Thanks to Gustavo, these hopeless angels can at least hide from the rain and get food at times.

This is a picture of Gustavo and some of the pups. ( Please Scroll for more information and pictures)
