Home renovation then business

In 2004, I helped my dad by a modest place in Tennessee. Dad's job of 24 years had left the community as the aftermath of the NAFTA treaty . Fortunately, he had a little money saved and I had some saved after returning from Okinawa, Japan while in the Marines. I'd later further my military career in active-duty army service and later retiring from the Tennessee National Guard in 2022. Sadly, Dad passed away in 2013, leaving me his place and a mess to clean.

I'd left active-duty army in 2013, enough time to see Dad before his passing at the age of 55. From 2013 to 2022 I'd worked, stayed in the national guard, raised my daughter as a single father, after my ex-wife abandoned us, and gotten a bachelor's degree in GIS. Also in 2022, I got crypto-scammed losing around $35,000 which I never recovered from as partial losses were from a bank loan.

Why am I here? I'm trying to renovate Dad's old place so that my daughter and I can move in. The place is uninhabitable for humans, with the combination of rot and mold. Getting this place fixed would become an investment for the community as well. This is so, as my future business-partner and I would start an organic food company within the local community. I could focus on business instead of working 2 jobs and gutting the place.

Getting this place fixed would also allow me to afford more time with my daughter such as short travels and gardening (which is impossible in an apartment.) I've helped friends on numerous occasions who aren't able or willing to help me. In this case, a little assistance would go a long way, and the dividends would become noticeable within the community. In terms of business, I'm ready to start it with a fresh mindset after my misfortunes and abandoning some certain character traits inherit to military service but not productive outside of that environment. A lot of good can follow once I can break free from the financial chains or at least move into my fully-paid property. God bless and take care!
