Although this marker now appears isolated in a wide open landscape, it identifies a once vibrant place that remained very much alive in the memories and stories of those who formed the Holland Settlement community from 1915 to 1940. Those stories were passed down to subsequent generations--people like me, and perhaps yourselves. I invite you to share in this long labor of love ... to visibly honor those forebears, on whose shoulders so many of us stand. Also, please forward this site to others you know who would have an interest.
