Moms United Against Violence & Incarceration and partners are once again combining a call for phone funds, toiletries and toys in support of incarcerated moms and their kids.

There are currently 1,412 people incarcerated in Logan and Decatur designated women's prison, where the majority are moms of minor kids. While mom is incarcerated, kids are often with grandparents, but many are in foster care too.
While visits are more restricted due to Covid, and still no-contact, it's even more important that moms have funds to call home and have video visits. This year Moms United and partners will combine phone funds, toiletry and toy drives (with more local drop-off/pick-ups) in support of incarcerated moms and their kids.
As always, we will combine this effort with concrete demands of improved conditions, e.g. working heat and hot water, as well as the most important harm reduction: release and re-entry support.
