Ever have a friend that completely gets you because you're so similar? That is the way I feel about Michelle Hix & her pack! They have faced issue after issue & need some financial assistance. Please help me help them!
Hello everyone! Never thought things would get to the point in life where asking for donations for herself, Michelle has asked for us to help others. Here she is imploring you to at least read her story and pray for her if nothing else. God always finds a way.
As most of you know, I am a teacher. Teachers are some of the lowest paid professionals in this country despite requirements of big educations and certifications. Yet we are expected to make ends meet just like everyone else. Because this is so far from the truth, I have for over ten years had at least one, if not two second jobs, to help make ends meet. Last year one of those jobs disappeared, leaving me with a significant loss of income. It was hard making ends meet, but I tried to do it. Other things kept happening in the background, like health problems. I ended up paying my total out of pocket on my insurance, a sum of $7500, but not without hits to every source of income I had. Maxing out my credit cards and struggling to make ends meet was hard. But I did it.
This year I tried, as always, to be proactive and got the best/most expensive insurance plan the district provides to make my deductible more manageable. I even set up my Un reimbursed Medical up to $1500. Shockingly I met my deductible in November. Remember educator plans run Sept to Aug. Which means I have no more money until I renew in September 2020. The next shock: I am now facing two very costly surgeries and all the medical testing the proceeds them. That is not cheap! The remaining balance is about $5000 plus 20% of the rest to meet my total out of pocket. Without help, I just can't do it. As many of my friends are teachers, you know where I'm coming from. Those of you who aren't, maybe you can kind of see where my current dilemma. I need help. Please help.
