Join hands with Team HBV in our efforts to improve global health by helping me organize my Hepatitis B outreach event! We need your help to reduce this major health disparity and a small donation will go a long way!
Hepatitis B is a serious liver infection that exhibits no symptoms until it reaches the point of liver cirrhosis; this is the final stage of the infection and a point at which treatment may no longer have an impact on the affected individual. Hepatitis B is 100 times more infectious than HIV and has become increasingly prevalent over the years. It is crucial that every individual is tested and vaccinated against the virus, as symptoms usually do not arise until it is too late. An estimated 257 million individuals are currently afflicted with the condition, and many more may contract the virus if measures are not taken and individuals are not educated. My run aims at educating my community on HBV as well as presenting ways in which they can prevent themselves from contracting the virus. A small donation would be greatly appreciated as it will definitely help me manage the financial costs of organizing this run event. I hope the Hep B Free Run will help inspire individuals to educate their own friends and family, as this will ensure that we progress towards a world that is Hepatitis B free!
