More Info

He has been battling pancreatitis for over a year, had a 30% chance of survival and pulled through. He was then diagnosed with the worst type, necrotizing pancreatitis. Within the last year he has had 4 cyst grow on his pancreas and be drained. This last time the cyst was so big and caused his pancrease to inflame he was facing having to have it removed which there is only a 5% chance of anyone surviving the surgery with a up to 7 year life span. So between umass and Hartford hospital this time a few weeks ago he was having yet another surgery to put stents in because he had a hole in the pancreas leaking into the stomach which was making him sick. During this surgery he started to bleed out-they got it under control. From this point Hartford hospital descided to put hold on surgeries and they thought of a surgery that has a high success rate, with cutting the pancreas in half and attatching the pancreas to an intestine-in 2 months.this was 3 weeks ago. So the take home plan for him they told him he couldn't have food by mouth to give the pancreas a break and he had a port in his arm that ran food through a machine. He had to live like this for 2 months untill the surgery. My husband and I picked him up from Hartford hospital less than two weeks ago with no concern of death no talk of death.

This was a very unexpected tradgety.

He was a volunteer fire fighter for east Thompson fire department for 10 years.

He had been a union carpenter for over 20 years.

He also Coached for over 20 years in Thompson for baseball and coached for WPTP.

With everything he has done in his life he has always put his family first.

We are in the works of scheduling services, I will post an update as soon as everything is finalized.

We understand times are tough, and especially with the holidays within a week money is tight for everyone.

Thank you to all who do donate and for all the prayers, wishes, condolences we can not thank everyone enough for being here in the terrible time.
