Update #4

Dear family, friends, and acquaintances,

(Note: Since Sasha identifies as agender, I am using the third-person pronouns they, them, and their, as Sasha prefers.)

Many of you have asked that this site be reopened to donations, so that you can give to Sasha as a way of showing support. Sasha’s parents have decided to allow this, and plan on using any funds that go beyond Sasha’s medical and rehabilitation needs to support organizations that promote education, tolerance, and non-violence. They will decide on the final use of these funds when Sasha is more able to make such decisions. They want Sasha to feel empowered by the support from the community at large, and to have a significant say in how the funds are used.

Sasha and their parents have so appreciated all of your caring words and generous support, following the tragic attack on Sasha while sleeping on a city bus November 4th. Sasha is being extremely well cared for in the burn center and is doing well. They are young and healthy, and their long term prognosis is very good. The healing process will be fairly long, and it is not yet clear what type of emotional healing they will need to do. But the outpouring of love from all of you has sustained Sasha and their family throughout this trying time. Thank you again.

Where to Send Further Donations

Once again, thank you all for your love, support, and donations that you have sent Sasha & family. If you would like to donate further, then please donate to the Saint Francis Bothin Burn Center. The family is feeling very overwhelmed with gratitude from all the support & would like to pass on the love and support to Saint Francis. You can specify that you would like the donation to go to the Bothin Burn Center by filling out the “Designation” field in the form.

Please visit the following site to donate to the Bothin Burn Center: https://www.networkforgood.org/donation/ExpressDonation.aspx?ORGID2=942597514&vlrStratCode=Fpw0Yi1%2fl%2feeZvZ%2f8Za%2b52JQhsYnlXN2G4MG86foBuC2Lpwo8Kkjdn9kaur5heZb

WE HIT THE MARK!!

On behalf of Sasha's family, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your generosity, love, and support. Per the family's request, we are ending the fundraiser shortly after the $20,000 mark. You guys did it. You helped heal a wounded soul & lifted up a family in need. Thank you for that. Words cannot express our gratitude. Though this fundraiser cannot undo what has happened, it can be a testament to all of us that there are still good people in the world. Once again, thank you for your support!

We love you Sasha!

As a Retired Driver since 2010 of 21 years, I've seen the security on AC Transit go all the way down.
