V-Crown Family And Youth Services Nonprofit. V-Crown Family and youth is a nonprofit agency providing programs for family and youths in the Wake, Johnston and Harnett County area. The program will form partnerships with local school districts and the juvenile court system. Our goal is to prevent homelessness, help with food and clothing, help with getting back into school and finding a job. If they are into gang activity we also do Gang and Crime prevention. We want to get the families and the youths started on a better life and reassert a sense of hope in the future. Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that will give youths the commitment to follow through on a path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishments Through repeated failures in the classroom and the development of destructive habits, at-risk young people have lost faith in the possibilities that await them if they are successful in putting their lives together. To accomplish goals, young people must be in a caring, inclusive learning environment that promotes their best effort and reinforces personal respect. V-Crown Family And Youth is a program that is in direct response to the growing number of young people that are either falling through the cracks at school or are already entangled with the juvenile court system with Gangs and crime. The goal of the program is to identify youths who are going to have a turbulent transition to adulthood and offer a positive support system to avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives. The focus is slightly different at each level but the goals remain the same, Empower the young person to make positive changes in his/her life. V-Crown Family And Youth will focus primarily on getting a stable place for these families to live, then get them back into school and helping them find a job. V-Crown mentoring programs will pair youth with a mentor for 6 months. Depending on what the issues are that will determine who they will be With. Four instances, if they are gang members they will be With an X gang member and companied with a manager from the Team, they will be informed on how and why the person got out of gangs, why it is not a good idea to be a part of a gang. During that time the two will participate in weekly planned activities to strengthen the relationship between the two and improve the young person's confidence and hopefulness. Mentors will receive continuous training throughout the year and will participate in monthly meetings to report the young person's progress. Over time, V-Crown will create a learning environment that will be an invaluable resource to young people, aspiring mentors and the community at large. V-Crown puts together fundraising activities and stop The violence events that will successfully fund the expanding program, Establish an effective training program for mentors that will increase their ability to be successful communicators, Establish an effective monitoring system to protect families of the mentors and the youth. We are putting together a plan to stop homelessness and prevent starvation. We have been doing this work for many many years and received our 501c3 2013. We have not received any grants from anyone yet. But we are doing our best to continue to do everything in our power to help our communities.
