Women entrepreneurs were hardest hit during the height of COVID-19 pandemic. 25% of women owned businesses closed, which is higher than any other group. Since then, even in the 1st year 90% of these businesses have closed, and over-all 70% women entrepreneur business end of closing due to lack of mentoring, resources and low confidence.

Following research as noted by the 2020 U.S. Census, in Indiana only 42% of women own businesses. In Saint Joseph County, it's only 12%, Elkhart County 8% business are women owned.
