What happened ...To cut a long story short, I recently found myself out of work (and therefore without health insurance). Whilst looking for a job I decided to help a friend's aging parents do some work around their home. In the course of cutting fire wood (more specifically, tree branches) with a machete I accidentally hacked into my left hand. Fortunately nothing was severed, but the cut went to the bone and was only stopped by bone.At the time, because I knew I didn't have insurance I wanted to try and take care of it myself, but my friend's family insisted on taking me to accident and emergency. I received 6 stitches and antibiotics to prevent a potential blood infection. Two weeks later I've received a bill for $565.90 (to which there will be attached "penalties for each day of delay" in paying)While I know this is not an outrageous medical bill, but it is something I just cannot afford as I have no savings. Even if I found a job tomorrow, the bill would continue to rise while I'm waiting for my first paycheck to come through. If you can help me pay this bill so that it doesn't become some larger debt that I'll be paying off for months to come would be greatly appreciated.I'm only trying to raise enough to cover the medical bill. I've been told that I'll need some sessions of physiotherapy to regain full use of my left hand, but for now this is something I'll have to do without, or try my best to do by myself. If the goal isn't met, anything raised will still go towards paying the medical bill. If by some good fortune more than the goal could be raised, I'd put that towards the cost of physiotherapy sessions. All I can offer you unfortunately is the satisfaction of helping someone out of a situation that could soon become unmanageable, if it's not dealt with soon. I'd like to be able to offer anyone who would be willing to help me something, but right now it's a struggle to keep a roof over my head while searching for work.Thank you for reading and thanks in advance for anyone who can help me get out of this jam!
