Hi, it is Basak, a visual artist from Turkey living in Philly. I got to the US as a student in 2019. This September, in 2022, I had to renew my visa without going back to my country. Because, for those who know a bit about Turkey, the political climate has been pretty oppressive and unbearable, particularly for minorities. For that reason obtaining a visa for any country from Turkey became complicated. And I didn't want to take the risk of pausing or even losing the life I built in Philadelphia. Accordingly, I had to work with a good lawyer to be certain about preparing and submitting a persuasive file to get a new visa. I can't work legally since June 2022 and won't be able to until I hear back from Immigration Services. With all my piled-up basic expenses, I certainly can't pay up my lawyer’s fees. I'd appreciate it if you can help me to keep living my dreams and life as an artist in the US with any amount you're willing to or able to grant. Cheers! Teşekkürler!
