On 14 Oct 2022, we witnessed something that we could not believe. A storm hit central Vietnam, Danang. This rainfall brought 795 mm of rain overnight. This unprecedented event killed 60,000 animals on farms, damaged 14 schools. The floods caused six deaths and submerged 70,000 houses,, It is said the infrastructure suffered more than VND190 billion worth of damage.
For just an overnight, the entire city was submerged under 1.5 m of water.

Hoi An and Da Nang were always listed in Top 10 places to visit in Asia.
Central Vietnam (Danang/Hoi An) is one of the most beautiful tourist cities in Vietnam facing the East Sea. The city was the major tourist icon in Vietnam which attracted more than 5 million tourists per year before Covid-19.
As it was a crowded tourist city next to Hoi An, soon after Covid-19 arrived in Vietnam, Da Nang became the most affected region in Vietnam. As an only and famous craft beer company, we were the first one which was visited by the Covid -19 infected customers. We were isolated in the city and business had been shut down most of the time since then.
As a Danang based craft beer company, 7 Bridges Brewing Co was funded in 2017. It has been an iconic business as the first craft brewery with a specific dream. Danang-based brewery was founded not only for doing a craft beer business but also for its dream. 7 Bridges was born with the mission to contribute to the local society and achieve sustainable business by Hanoi based American lawyer Stanley Boots and Saori Ushimi who worked for a Japanese governmental aid agency and lived in Hanoi for more than 6 years.
Started with the passion, the 7 Bridges growth was so rapid that it has been receiving so many awards in many international competitions for the quality of craft beers and awarded as Champion of medium sized brewery in Aasia. By 2019, 7 Bridges became the most awarded craft beer company in Vietnam.
Since its founding, 7 Bridges has organized a charity event for the local community called "Beer United". This event was created to raise funds for the three local organizations; Giving Back to Kids (orphanage), the Danang Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin (DAVA) and Lets Do It Vietnam (Zero Waste initiative). Until Covid-19 hits, 7 Bridges has organized the Beer United for three times and donated all the profit for the organizations. Recently, 7 Bridges also committed to zero waste business and Beach Side Brewery in Da Nang was the home for its research and development. We have been creating spent grain based pizza dough, bread, cracker and cookies, malt vinegar and chili sauce from upcycled tail end beer, spent yeast and hop soap.. 7 Bridges has been keen on achieving zero waste business operation. But the R&D lab, brewery and taproom have been ruined by the flood.
7 Bridges Brewery has been also supporting many employees who have been working for since the beginning.
The employees are family for 7 Bridges, even in the most difficult Covid time, they stayed with the company.
They went through the months of unpaid periods and supported the company because they believe in the company and what we do for the community.
The last 3 years have been extremely difficult for the 7 Bridges Danang, but now our "home" is facing catastrophic damage due to the historic flood.
We are just standing and devastated to see everyone's hard work would possibly be lost...
As a co-founder, I am standing up for this situation. We cannot let the dream disappear because of the storm.
We deserve to survive and the community needs a good business like us!
Please help us now for us to recover from the awful damage and keep doing goodness to the community and environment together with our employees.
Our dream has not ended yet, we need your help to overcome this event and bring more values to the community.
With the funds, we will look for another safe location to set up a business, so that we will not be scared of the coming flood and potential landslide.
The fund will be used for securing a new location and fee for renovation and fit out so that we will be able to keep our employees from losing the job they love.
