FRWP is a groupe of 1200 mostly colorado-based wildlife and nature photographers we strive to provide a physical and virtuel space for wildlife photograhers to grow thier skills
As a part of the process we partner with local businesses city governement and non profit entities to exhibit our work as a groupe
In 2018 we will be partnering with the Healing Arts program, a donation-supported organization that uses visual art, music, massage, and outdoor garden space to promote healing and recovery in Southwest Denver metro area hospitals.
FRWP has 22 pieces of wildlife photography that will rotate through Healing Arts supported galleries located within Castle Rock, Littleton, Parker, and Porter Adventists hospitals beginning in January 2018 and running through August 2018. Some of the images that patients, their families, and medical providers will be able to view are included here.
Our group has several members that are recovering from injury or illness themselves or have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. Photography helped them through these difficult and frightening times in their lives and because of that, the group wanted to do more.
These members volunteered to donate their photographs to the program in the form of blank greeting cards that can be sold through the gift shops within these four hospitals to continue raising money for Healing Arts even after our exhibit has moved on.
Our goal is to print 600 total greeting cards which will feature the various images you've seen here on the front, be blank inside, and feature a small picture of the photographer that took the image along with their recovery story on the back of the card. We will also have a short description of the Healing Arts program. We would like to print 100 of each design and distribute 25 of each card to all four hospitals. If we raise more than the $1,200 that we have set as a goal, we will print more cards until the money is gone.
Each card costs between $1.00 and $1.50 to print depending on the size. We are still determining which size option will work best for distribution at the gift shops.
We are having a show opening at Castle Rock Adventist hospital on February 5th and would like to have the greeting cards available by then - and we can do it, with your help. Please consider contributing to help Front Range Wildlife Photographers support hospital patients, their families, medical providers, and artists throughout the Denver metro area through our donation to the Healing Arts program.
Risks and challenges
Front Range Wildlife Photographers greatest challenge is that the project won't fund. We have all of the other infrastructure in place, including the full support of the Healing Arts board and the various 501c3 commissions that help raise money for this donation-supported program. We have also engaged a local intellectual property lawyer who is helping the Healing Arts program and Front Range Wildlife Photographers pro bono to ensure that all images are copyrighten and that rights stay with the photographer thus protecting the artists. We have had extensive meetings with all of the stakeholders to determine how to make this a reality. Now, we simply need the funds to print the cards.
