We will begin tracking the new record at Goldentone Studio in Gainesville, FL in late December. We're honored that Jack Endino (Soundgarden, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Windhand, High on Fire) will mix & master the record!
Dizygote is a father/son metal duo. Ethan is 15 and an amazingly talented drummer and musician and in the short time we've been performing as a band, we've accomplished more than we ever thought we could.
We ran a successful campaign last spring to fund the production of some professional videos produced by Sugarshack Sessions in the studio of the artist Marcus Jansen. Those videos have been our online business cards and have helped propel us forward.
Since then, we've written lots of new material that we're very excited about and we've booked studio time in late December to begin tracking the new record.
We're honored that Jack Endino will be mixing and mastering the record. Jack is a Latin Grammy award winner for his work producing the Brazilian artist Nando Reis, but he's best known for producing albums for Soundgarden, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Nebula, Windhand and High on Fire to name a few. Jack is a foundational figure in the legendary Seattle music scene and is a heavyweight in the recording industry. We know that with Jack's magic, our songs will spring to life and we'll have an absolute banger of a record.
It's not beyond the realm of possibility that this project could grab a lot of attention from record labels and could propel us to the "next level". We've been wowing audiences locally and regionally. Now it's time to go bigger.
Recording costs can range widely. We've managed to book high quality studios and people to work with without breaking the bank so to speak. We're initially planning on 2 days of tracking at Goldentone Studio in Gainesville, FL. We may need to book additional time for overdubbing. The mixing and mastering is where the magic really happens and also where most of the expense for the project will go. We're also planning to hire a PR company to publicise the new record.
All told, we're estimating the whole project, including PR to be about $3,000. In the grand scheme of things, that's cheap, but as independent artists, it's a lot to come up with by ourselves. This is where we need your help.
