Update #2

Hi everyone,
We are blown away by the generosity and support we have been lucky enough to receive. We cannot thank you enough. My goal is that, once we get our feet back under us and debts paid- we hope to donate an equal amount to charities. We have in mind The Humane Society, The Willow Domestic Violence Shelter, The Community Shelter, Just Food, Planned Parenthood, Human Rights Campaign, and the American Civil Liberties Union. If you have a charity you'd like us to support, let us know in your donation comment!

I wish I had a better update for you, but things are about the same.
-Elliot has had multiple job offers fall through. One told him the next step was an in person group interview- and he was called before that date and told the position was filled. One had a start date and all his paperwork filed- when a technical issue pushed them back "several weeks."
-Considering that my accident involved hitting a concrete wall going 75mph, I can't stress how lucky I feel to be here, and with only the injuries that I did sustain. I have since graduated physical therapy, after working with them 3 days a week for six weeks to treat severe whiplash. However, I'm still dealing with some vision issues as a result of a concussion- which my Eye Doctor thinks was more like a mild Traumatic Brain Injury.
-I have been fortunate enough to borrow a vehicle from my mother in law, but we have not been able to afford a replacement for the car that was totaled in the accident.
-Elliot started HVAC school in October! He will be able to start in that field this summer. We are so excited for this opportunity, and ever grateful to his parents for their support regarding this.

That's all for now, we hope that you all have a wonderful and safe Holiday Season!

More Info

Elliot has been unemployed since February of this year. We have applied for literal hundreds of jobs, and he has been on several interviews. lead after lead just continues to not work out. The pandemic has slowed the job market to a screeching hault, and employers simply aren't hiring. In June, he finally had an offer from a family friend. He began work there and, within less than two full weeks of shifts, became very ill. He has since been unable to work since July. He has come back negative for Covid-19 twice, had multiple blood tests, med changes, a chest xray, and an EKG. His doctor has no idea what could be making him feel this way, and he remains unable to work. I unfortunately make nowhere near enough money to support both of us. In addition, to add him to my health insurance so we could keep seeing doctors, we pay an additional $250 more a month than we used to. We did what we could for as long as we could. I refinanced my car and took out equity. We sold personal items. We deferred payments on my car and all of our utilities. We received our stimulus payments and tax refunds. We took out multiple credit cards. We borrowed what we could from his parents. Our luck is running out. Relief and assistance funds are gone, and no more help is available. We were denied EBT Food Assistance due to "excess income. " I'll be clear. My net paychecks each month total to around what our rent alone costs. This is without any utility or food cost. Asking for help is very hard for me to do, and it's the last way we wanted to solve this. I am looking at options for a second job, but I already work full-time and am a 75% full-time student as well. I am more than willing, in fact I would prefer, to earn the money. Please let me know how I can help you if you choose to donate. Raking leaves, mowing lawns, cleaning, dog walking, dog washing, dog or cat nail trims, petsitting, running errands, etc. We have every intention of returning the favor to anyone so kind to help us. Anything helps. Thank you so much.

Update #1

Hello everyone. As you may have heard, Friday evening I was in a high-speed car accident. I feel VERY fortunate to have only sustained the minimal injuries that I did. My car however, is totaled. We had just spent $700 that week on some emergency repairs, and I bought a full set of tires in June for $800. I really loved this car, and as our main vehicle this is a huge loss to us. Fortunately, since I was still paying it off, our full coverage insurance is covering many costs, but I still have a $500 deductible to pay. In addition, yet another job lead for Elliot that looked promising fell through. We really hate to do this, but we are once again looking for help. Anything helps. Thank you so much.
