John, Ira, Stefan, and Charleze have fled their home in Odessa, Ukraine. We are fundraising to cover travel costs and provide them with clothes and essentials as they were unable to take anything with them.
John Murphy, his wife Iryna ,and their kids Stefan, and Charleze had to flee from their home in Odessa, Ukraine. John has been on the mission field working in Ukraine for almost three decades. Due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the Murphy family has been forced to leave their home and church once their city was being shelled by Russian forces. After a trip of over 16 hours, the Murphy family made it into the neighboring country of Moldova. Almost immediately after they made it into Moldova, Ukraine closed its borders. Unfortunately, Moldova's airspace was completely closed because of Russia's attack on Ukraine. There were already thousands of refugees from Ukraine in Moldova, and there was nowhere for them to stay in addition to gridlock making it very difficult to travel. The Murphy's then continued their over 30 hour trip to Romania so that they would be able to fly to the United States before the Romanian borders and airspace potentially close.
The Murphy family had to leave everything they have behind, they have already spent thousands of dollars and face a long journey trying to get from Romania to the United States.
