Why should you help?

My brother told me that sometime ago when he was returning back home from school that he saw a homeless woman at Penn Station. She had a bad smell on her and the people at and around the station could smell it. One man began yelling at her because of the smell and after sometime, the cops arrived and moved her to another area.

By God's grace and mercy, my family and I have never been homeless and maybe, you reading this, have never been homeless either or maybe you have, I don't know. However, what I do know is that I can help; we can help. The funds you donate will go to buying food and body supplies for the less fortunate in the cities of Newark and East Orange, such as the woman described above. If any of us were in her situation, we would want people to do the same for us. Let us help our fellow neighbors; they need our help.

Recently while I was scrolling on social media, I saw a video of a homeless man speaking about his struggles and it almost moved me to tears. Here is the link to that video:

"Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same." Luke 3:11

As Jesus Christ said in Matthew 25:34-40

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ 37“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?  38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?  39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

In verse 45, to those who didn't help their neighbors, He says, “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me."
