My Grandson, was born on June 30th, 2022. His parents, Angel and Keaton, discovered after genetic testing post conception that they were both carriers of the gene mutation that causes Cystic Fibrosis. Within a week of birth, My grandson was tested for Cystic Fibrosis, and the results showed that he received the mutation from both her parents meaning that he was born with Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder that causes the lungs and digestive system to get clogged with mucus. This results in some Cystic Fibrosis patients requiring double lung transplants when they are older. Keaton is blessed with a good job and good insurance. Much, but not all, of the medical expenses, are covered. Angel will not be able to return to work for at least a couple of years while the severity of Cystic Fibrosis is determined. My grandson has already been prescribed a particular enzyme (which helps him absorb nutrients) that he must ingest before each meal and vitamins once a day. During the research on Cystic Fibrosis, we discovered that there are a lot of costs in keeping My grandson safe that is not covered by medical insurance. Dust and dirt can be very damaging to the lungs of a Cystic Fibrosis patient, so we have been making their home as clean as possible. This includes replacing their cloth furniture with easy-to-wipe clean furniture, and replacing all their carpeting with easy-to-clean flooring. We purchased a medical-grade whole house purifier for My grandson’s home. Keaton recently discovered mold in their crawl space which is going to be addressed by clearing out the crawl space and killing the mold, and placing a vapor barrier on the ground and will involve an ongoing cost because a dehumidifier is going to have to be placed in the crawl space and operated 24/7. We have also hired a company to clean their furnace and ducts, which will also have to be completed regularly. We also expect that there will be weeks when Keaton will have to take an unpaid time off to help care for His son. This loss of pay will place a burden on the family. We will keep My grandson as safe as possible in his environment(s) as best as we can now so that when he grows up, he can live a full life enjoying sports, hobbies, or whatever he desires.

Please help share or support any how you can. It would be very much appreciated.
