Update #8

New donation via bank wire received!

There are those out there who help when they view an opportunity to do something good.

When you support a home office, you are supporting a worker who is available when needed for those special tasks too small or large for the usual services. Freelance consultants can get it done in less time, much of it spent going through recruiters and agencies.

If you need a task done within a week, find an available freelance at home professional. I am here waiting for you to offer a task. I can do Excel work. I can also convert your business card to a simple one page mobile app.

Please support this campaign. It might actually help you find work projects that fit your expertise. This is a fundraiser that can earn you money in the months ahead.

Update #7

I have updated the gifts. Two are custom gifts.

Most recent donation is a $300 check to help with rent.

You can keep the home office running with your kind donation today. Support self-employment and freelance work as valid employment. You may not be aware that many projects online are completed by contract workers. that crowdfunding project you backed may not be completed on time if no available workers are found.

Visit Upwork, which was "Odesk" before a name and website change in April. Take a look at projects needing skilled workers.

https://www.upwork.com/

It takes time to go through each potential worker and find the right match. Some projects are way past the posted deadline. If you had crowdfunding money on any of these projects, you can see why it's important to fund freelance workers independently so they are ready to go at the right time when needed?

Due to generous donations over the past year it's possible to at least be available for projects. If I don't have income, I cannot run my home office. I lose Internet access (and my phone which requires broadband) and my excellent workstation is not used for anything, just sits here and collects dust.

There have been projects, both online and offline. I created content for a new website (Mindool). I searched for UPCs for an online grocer. I performed other services that were unpaid. I completed a task for a client in just a few minutes in April but was never selected. (Client provided PDF to convert to Excel a very easy job.) I've been posting ads for two clients but still waiting on payouts. I launched a collection of freelance work themed websites in March. (Starting with http://www.adznet.work.)

Early in May I completed a very difficult Excel 2010 project for a local client. Because of that income I was able to get through Mayl. It was to be for three weeks, but I got the job in just one week, well ahead of client expectations. I attended a local job fair to present my recent project accomplishments. Still I wait for my next job.

You can show your support by donating here. This is a fundraiser that can earn you money if you view the donation options. You'll get hints about how to find work online. There are projects needing skilled workers. Can you help find workers so that these projects are completed on time?

Update #6

Thanks for all your support.

More donations came in as checks, which I will add here.

People do help when asked.

It helps a lot to donate to others first, even if it's a small amount. I gave $25 to another fundraiser last summer. If you do well in your campaign, more than you need yourself, why not go through Fundly and find use for your extra funds?

Update #5

Fundraiser has been extended to the end of this year. New perks have been added with end of 2015 expiration dates if claimed.

Ad placements spots have been added as perks. Check out the $12 and $60 levels. Visit this page to view ads.

http://www.onlineforexstation.com/ads/coop.html

Thanks to donations I have received, I am able to continue into February. There are a few new "gig" options that look good to me. It looks like I will be starting a new "ad posting" gig. I have yet to see if t his is going to work out.

Freelance is risky, buy the rewards are good if the client pays and the hours are flexible on my time.

I added my zoo train video to show off my first filmed and produced video. Experience a ride on the Milwaukee County Zoo train. Video was captured while riding the train at Zoo Ala Carte 2010. Take a look at the number of views it has now!

Rent Is Past Due!

Rent Is Past Due!: http://fundly.com/help-support-my-family .

HELP SAVE A HOME OFFICE
The most important part of having a home office, is the office space. This office space is at risk. If I lose this place, I cannot complete my projects. Clients won't get their submissions from me. I will lose money.

You can keep my office running with a donation starting at $10. It's quick and it's easy to help and you will be helping more people than me. There are other members of my family. There are my clients who are counting on me to complete their projects. Some projects may result in jobs.

The last job I worked is part of a new business being built, starting with required product data. It paused midway and so I did not receive the full expected earnings in November. It's to be completed at another time.

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!
If I lose my apartment, I will not be able to complete that project. My client may be able to find someone else willing and able to complete that task, but I am not so sure. It was a very hard job (looking up product UPS codes), taking lots of time and attention to details. I was the ONLY person who was able to make it through my share of 1,000 products. So I was given the ENTIRE 15,000 list to do. Isn't that cool?

There are other projects coming up. Some clients provide sample or test work to find the best workers. I want to be able to complete my assignments on time and without any interruptions. Getting a call from my apartment office that I will be getting a notice is a MAJOR interruption. I am struggling to decide what to sell to raise money for rent. Should I sell my kitchen table (hand built by my father, who passed away April 15,1999). It's at times like this I really miss his support when he was around. I am doing the sort of work he was doing, freelance contract work.

YOU CAN BE A SUPER HERO!
And so I turn to you, the online community with this family crowdfunding campaign. You on your phone, tablet or desktop have the power to help people in need of rescue. In this case, you are not just saving one person, you are saving a job from ending. When you help one working person, you are helping MANY people (clients ,their companies and their employees). You are the process of making something happen.

People invest their money in business. Sometimes it's worth it. Sometimes they lose their money. If you are going to spend money anywhere, seriously consider directing it to freelance contract workers. If you aren't technical we come to your rescue when you need help getting out of a spot. Go to Odesk and see what people are wiling to pay to solve both big and small technical tasks.

https://www.odesk.com/

Time is running out. You have a choice to make a wish come true. I wish for at least one $10 donation from someone today. Others have stepped up to the plate and generously helped out. Do it because it's fun and you will feel so good.

This is in memory of my father of "E.C.R. & D." an engineering consulting firm he formed to practice his engineering craft. We miss you, Sydney!

$1500 Check Received!

A very generous donor (not named) sent a $1500 check! The gift is really appreciated and was just in time. It covered many bills but not all.

There is still need for more donations. A credit card closed because funds did not arrive in time to save it. That's why it's so important to donate what you can and early as you can to family fundraisers such as this. The longer it's put off, the higher the costs are. Along with the credit card loss was the rewards points that went with it. It's upsetting not being able to pay bills on time due to a number of circumstances that reduced income and the means to pay.

When there are disputed purchases to deal with and bad emails with evidence of identity theft (and misuse of private data), banking is frozen and the credit bureaus are alerted. I consider the bad email one of the factors that led to not getting the Manpower job. I got the email the day when I needed to be focused on Manpower online orientation. I missed that and that was one of the reasons that job was declined the day I thought I was going to work.

While I waited for refunds of disputed purchases, I was unable to make bill payments on time. I had hoped that everyone who sees this would understand what it means to be a freelance worker. Some jobs don't pay. Some "jobs" end up not being real jobs, but scams. I did some work that ended up being a waste of hours.

Some employers only pay by commission, but what that means is that those with investment money choose to only fund profitable work, not the actual work needed to get the sales or signups. It means that some workers end up not being paid for their work. But there must be payment because building websites, running a home office and doing any kind of creative work is not free. It's use of my time and resources.

That's why I turn to you to help build up my home office so that I can be of service to you if you need it. I have computer and administrative skills ready to complete tasks. However, if I have to spend time worrying about paying rent, utilities, ISP bills, web hosting bill, promotion expenses and keeping my computers running well, then I can't do work for anyone.

When you go to work at your company, everything's there for you. When you fund a freelance worker, you are investing in a company of one person with an office at home. For most computer-based work, that's all that's required.

Take a look at a website, Odesk, where at last I have found some work I can do. It's free to join and the tests are free. This is my workplace.

Please support my freelance work with your donation then let others know of other ways to get small business projects done in a cost-effective way.

$1000 Check Received!

Today I received $1,000 check in the mail. (Prefer to keep donor private.)

This will help a lot. Can you help close the gap and reach my goal?

This is definitely a family campaign. Each one of us has struggled to find a place after the loss of our father on April 15, 1999. After everything seemed to be in place, my life changed once again with the ending of a long eight year contract job. I was ready for a new challenge, but did not foresee all the problems when I tried to make a new website for my new employer.

I have spent the past months living on whatever I had in savings and credit to get me through to earning money again. I have received some lost funds back. But new threats emerged including an email that appeared to be a breach of my private data. This can throw everything off because it means securing my finances to protect myself.

Fortunately, my bank has been good working with me as I work tor restore my balance and payments. I fixed the brakes on my car and got me a new Geico plan to cover my now paid off car. I have sold a number of household items, some I thought I never would give up just to make sure my bills were paid. I have lost my old books and other old items. I sold my big TV and a number of various built by me furniture items. I have done everything in hopes of regaining regular income again.

My new job does not pay until I get converting visitors to sign up and qualify for business funding. Web developers are not always paid for their work. At times it appears to be a hobby, but for me it's a profession like any other profession out there. If you write or create a song, you expect compensation from your fans. I make web pages, but have to ask for money or get paid when someone buys something on my pages.

This campaign is largely to raise awareness that IT is a profession like any other. Much of it is self-directed and unpaid. Think of all those sites you visit and use, many of which done without any salary or compensation. If you are the kind of person who believes in paying for services that you use (if you are able to), then this is a campaign for you.

Here's a way to pledge your support for the Internet you use every day for shopping, research, communicate with your loved ones and express your right to free speech. If you value this, then you value the time we take to build the Internet, sometimes experiment with new designs and services.

Here's your chance to show others how you feel about your support for self-employed IT workers. Please donate what you can and help end this campaign fully funded.
