I am raising funds for my dear friend Lindsey and her toad Squishy. Squishy broke her leg while tying to keep warm during the Texas snow storm. The vet says the best option is amputation, which is very expensive.
You may remember Squishy and Harley from my Instagram posts, I watched them back in October. Unfortunately Harley passed of old age earlier this year, so it is now just Squishy. Lindsey has had her since 2013 when she was taken in after being run over by a lawn mower. Squishy has been with Linsey for multiple moves across the country and I know she really loves Squish. When the winter storm hit Texas it left many without warm, Lindsey and Squishy were one of those many. Having a pet during a storm is already stressful but a pet that requires heat is even more of a qualm. Lindsey told me that she put Squishy against her chest inside her sweater to keep warm but Squish did not want to be there. She settled down a bit nut a few hours later Lindsey noticed her left back leg looted a little odd. She tried to get in contact with multiple vets and thankfully she was able to reach our wonderful vet at Westgate Pet & Bird. The doctors said Squishy's femur was broken in two places and it won't heal on it's own. They told Lindsey that amputation was the only real option. As you may known, my now passed baby Honey Dew got her back leg amputated with Dr. Lusk and survived the surgery. We hopeful that Squishy will do the same. I know things have been hard on my friend especially with the pandemic and I want to help her and little Squish out. Squishy will be going for surgery on the 23rd and the highest estimate is $693. Please help me to help my friend, even if it's just sharing this fund, anything is appreciated.
