“So that’s what a pagan is!” Help EarthSpirit to spread the word at the Parliament of the World’s Religions.

EarthSpirit supports the Parliament of the World’s Religions and its vision of a just, peaceful, and sustainable world. Please help us to send EarthSpirit presenters, organizers and volunteers to the 2018 Parliament.

The EarthSpirit Community has played an active role in the Parliament of the World’s Religions since its revival in the early ‘90s. We passionately support its vision of a just, peaceful and sustainable world in which religious and spiritual communities live in harmony and contribute to a better world.

EarthSpirit’s directors play leading roles in this seven-day convention:

Andras Corban-Arthen is a long-time member of the Parliament’s Board of Trustees. He has twice been elected Vice-Chair of the Board, and serves on its Executive Committee and on many other committees and task forces. He is a founding member of the Parliament’s Indigenous Assembly, and continues to serve on the Indigenous Task Force as well as chairing the Site Selection Committee, which chooses the location of future Parliaments. Andras has been a featured speaker at the Parliaments held in Chicago (1993), Barcelona (2004), Melbourne (2009) and Salt Lake City (2015).

Deirdre Pulgram-Arthen has offered presentations at every one of the modern Parliaments. She co-wrote the large-scale pagan Full Moon Ritual which was held in Grant Park at the 1993 Parliament in Chicago, and led programming at the Parliament held in Cape Town, South Africa (1999). Deirdre was an invited member of the Assembly of Religious and Spiritual Leaders in Barcelona (2004), and she also led programs there, in Melbourne (2009) and in Salt Lake City (2015). She has been a member of several organizing committees and planning teams for the Parliament since 1992, and this year is a member of the Women's Task Force – designing programming for the Women’s Assembly, and leading the Committee on Arts and Ritual.

This November, the Parliament convenes in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and 30 members of our community will participate as presenters, program organizers, volunteers, and representatives of Earth-centered spirituality, paganism, and the EarthSpirit Community. Our team includes:

As always, our colorful EarthSpirit booth on the convention floor will be the center of lively conversations. Tousands of people will visit during the week to ask about paganism and Earth-centered spirituality. Our members put a welcoming face on paganism and open the door to many who are unfamiliar with our traditions. This part of our work at the Parliament of the World’s Religions has served to provide accurate and positive information about paganism – and to help dispel prejudices and negative stereotypes – all over the world for the the past three decades.
