Help Sayda Get to Morocco!

Hello Friends and Family!

Next January I will be emarking on what I know will be an incredible four-month journey in Rabat, Morocco! Through the School for International Training (SIT), I will be studying migration and transnational identity issues! Yet, although the cost of the program is covered by my Whitman financial aid package, the cost of airfare is not. A one-way plane ticket costs approximately $1800 (and this is me not being picky), which, as you can imagine, is a high price for my family and me to afford. I have a spot on the program, but it will all be for nothing if I cannot actually get to Morocco!

So, this is where you come in! If you want to support the academic endeavors of a young woman who hopes to bring back what she learns to her community, then please consider pitching in with whatever you can afford! Even $10 will go a long way to helping me achieve this goal! Simply click on the donate button and give whatever it is that your current situation allows.

One way you will get to see your donation in action will be through a blog that I will maintain about my experiences in Morocco. I will also publish and share the research paper I will be writing at the end of the program, but to give you a sneak peek, I hope to write about the influence of immigration on local art and artisan's lives. If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact me (moralesv@whitman.edu) or check out the website for the SIT program (http://www.sit.edu/studyabroad/ssa_mom.cfm)!

Words are not enough to express how grateful I am for all of your kindess and support! Thank you very very very much!

Best,

Sayda Morales
