Update #3

I am now 8 months old. It may be cruel to think about this, but I would've probably stopped living at 7 months if it weren't for your help and support.

I have now reached the 46th day of treatment. After 45 days of active and determined battle against FIP, my bloodwork is finally showing improvement. In the case of FIP, the marker that shows if the illness is in remission is the A/G ratio. For a healthy cat, that ratio gets up to 1. In my case it is 0.5. I'm so happy, because at the start of all this, my A/G ratio was 0.3. Not much, but it's honest work.

In order to defeat the battle, we still have a long way to go, tho. We still have 38 days ahead. You can still support me in my struggle. Daily updates are posted here, on my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Klimtthecat

More Info

Hi there! My name is Klimt. I'm 6 months old, and 5 days ago, i've received the deadly and aggressive diagnosis of wet FIP. My parents have been through this before, 6 months ago, before I was born. My 3 year old sister, Samsa, also received the same diagnosis. Unfortunately for her, her symptoms were far too advanced for anything to be done. Back then, the treatment was in its incipient phases, with the first clinical trial from Gilead being published. She did not stand a chance... Lucky for me, a lot of time has gone by since then, and nowadays there is a treatment available. I've tried everything that my brilliant vet could possibly provide. Some of the meds i've taken include interferon, a vitamin B shot, even antibiotics and antiinflamatories. But my belly keeps swelling up... So I've had my tummy drained... This stressed me and my other sister from another mother, Zoe, more than I can say, because we had to get separated. We still live in the same house, but we cannot share our love as we'd like. My parents try their best, though. They take very good care of me and they've found something that is sure to show results. There is this nucleoside analog called GS-441524 that strongly inhibits FIP, as shown in recent clinical trials. It is shown to be very effective, but at the same time, it is also extremely expensive. This treatment involves an 84-day period of treatment. Given my size and weight, I will be needing 1 capsule for 2 kg kitties. One box of 20 capsules costs up to 642 USD. My parents managed to get 1 box and a dose if injectible treatment, but if i want to make it, I need at least three more doses... I really love my parents and I really want to be able to savour every moment with them. My entire biological family has died on me, me being the last survivor. I really want to prove to the world that I am strong and powerful. But that implies having the courage to reach out to others who might be able to lend a hand. So here goes: Would you help me join my parents' efforts in getting my treatment? My time is running out... Please share anything you can with me! With very much enthusiasm (and low energy levels to show it), Klimt

Update #2

Hi, again!
First of all, i'd like to thank you! With your support, I have become hopeful again.
I started my treatment! I've been taking it for almost a week now, and it's been going great. My belly finally shrinked to its' normal size, and I've got some of my energy back. It started slowly, with me moving around the house, then I started following my toy mouse around the house, and then, i played with my mommy and my sister again!!!

Still, some of the things I do strain my body, and I just lye around wherever I can in order to gather some strength. I still have 77 days of treatment to go, although sometimes it seems that I forget. I'm counting on you all to reach the end of my treatment.

You can follow my facebook page for daily updates about my health here: https://www.facebook.com/Klimtthecat

Hoping to hear from you all,
Klimt
