Help Save Casablanca Moroccan Restaurant in Sacramento

From Sarah Drissi

Like so many other small businesses, my dad finds himself in the position of possibly closing our family restaurant forever due to the pandemic. We humbly ask for your help in saving Casablanca. Thank you!

I feel so selfish writing this...but it’s literally our only hope. Like so many other small businesses, my dad finds himself in the position of possibly closing his restaurant due to the pandemic. We never wanted to set up a donation site, but unfortunately this week things took a turn for the worse. I won’t go into detail, but my dad’s house was robbed and they took an extremely large amount of money. Obviously what matters is that no one was physically hurt, and for that we are extremely thankful. However, when your business is already about to go under, losing a substantial amount of money will most likely be its demise. Since you guys were so amazing last time, I had to reach out with one last ditch effort because it is now even more dire than it was before. Unless something drastic happens, we will have to shut our doors. I remembered many of you graciously asking if we could set up a donation page. As appreciative as we were for that before, it didn’t feel right to take anyone’s money during a pandemic. Unfortunately now, as much as we hate to ask...we do indeed need help. We know that there are a million more businesses and charities that deserve help before us, but all I ask is that if you’ve ever enjoyed a meal at Casablanca, please consider us and please share. If you don’t feel comfortable donating, buying a gift certificate for a loved one this holiday season is always an option. (916-979-1160) And of course pick-up & Postmates are still available. But there is absolutely no pressure at all! Please do not spend your hard earned money if you are struggling in the slightest!

PS. It’s not lost on us how lucky we are that we are posting about losing a business rather than a loved one. If anyone has lost someone to Covid or anything else recently, our hearts are with you. Please continue to be safe...for yourself and for everyone around you. Sending my love and socially distant hugs to you during this difficult time!
