Help reunite a horse with her person

From Sienna Haralson

I’m raising money to transport my horse from SWLA to Montana. Donations will go towards her hauling fee and, if possible, her first month of board.

Howdy! As some of my friends and family may know, I packed up and relocated from the swamps of Louisiana to the mountains of Montana at the beginning of August. I got an amazing job as a barn manager for a cute little stable and I continue doing my freelance art when I’m not doing barn chores. I was planning on bringing my mare up a month or two after we got here but two things happened shortly after arriving: my car promptly died, and a category 4 hurricane tore through Louisiana, and with that my family's farm. Everyone is fine, but my horse's shelter collapsed around her and she's lucky to have escaped with only minor injuries. I'm worried sick over her and want to have her hauled to Montana ASAP, but with the move and my car dying, my savings are all dried up. I want her to be safe, and to no longer be a burden on my parents as they repair and clean up the aftermath of the storm, but unfortunately I also need a working car.

My mare, Tessa, is sort of my world. I’ve had her for about 10 years and she was only 4 when I got her. That makes her 14 years old now and in the prime of her life as a 16 hh thoroughbred. We’re absolutely two peas in a pod, she’s my perfect horse. We’ve spent some time away from each other since I couldn’t afford, or even have time to devote to her, while I was living in Georgia for graduate school. Then again when I moved to northern Louisiana. I have been absolutely aching to have her around again and working with her.

I work very hard juggling two jobs but the arts are underappreciated and underpaid, which means it would take me several months to save up enough again to bring her up. Time is of the essence now since the hurricane hit. The amount that I need to raise is $2,450. Transportation will cost $1700-$2100 (possibly even more) depending on who is available and their price and then $350 for her first month of boarding at the stable I work at.

Any and all donations that could go towards her hauling fee would be beyond appreciated, and even if you cannot donate, just a signal boost would help me out.

Thank you so much!
