We are putting an addition on our 125 year old church/community theater since the basement was flooded during hurricane Ida. This will give our facility the ability to provide more outreach to the community!
We were working on remodeling the old kitchen in the basement of the church/theater when Hurricane Ida came rushing through. It destroyed most of our building materials, not to mention many of our electrical upgrades and already completed areas. We have made the decision to put a 2 story addition between our 2 buildings to make our kitchen handicapped accessible. That way the kitchen and the auditorium will be located on the same level, allowing our volunteers accessibility to both areas. We not only want to continue providing entertainment for our community, but we want to be able to provide outreach to our community in various ways: Allowing community groups to use the facility for little or no charge, providing free meals to the community, especially children on a weekly basis, providing summer theater camps for children and adults etc.. This could be a start to many outreaches in our small rural community! Thanks for considering helping our non-profit with this endeavor.
