Martyrs never die.

Wednesday we traveled back to Charllottesville to mourn and provide security in the wake of threats made to Heather Heyer's memorial by white supremacists. We wish we could simply attend the memorial of our fallen comrade but as we all know, we are still in the early stages of this fight.

Thank you all again for your material, verbal, and written support, It has carried us through a week of constant organizing, street presence, and coping. Please continue sharing this fundraiser so that when we do slow down, we can pursue adequate healthcare for everyone in our large team. This includes bodywork, herbal support, primary care, and mental healthcare. If you are a provider of any kind of health or healing services and can offer reduced cost care please reach out via facebook. Members of this team have been doing great work in finding free and immediate mental healthcare. It's crucial that we continue our care into the coming months so that we can continue to protect each other.

Rest in Power to Heather Heyer and all those taken by white supremacy and state violence.

More Info

A12 is upon us.  As hundreds of fascists prepare to descend upon Charlottesville VA for their "Unite the Right" rally, and thousands mobilize to counter them, local organizing resources are being stretched thin.

Seven Hills Autonomous Queers, along with some trusted friends and allies, are gearing up to protect our friends, families and communities from the mass violence the fascists will be bringing with them. From thinly veiled threats to outright calls for "right wing death squads" to be present, we feel that violent conflict on the part of the alt right is inevitable. With this in mind we are preparing to provide safety and support to those targeted by the fascists during and after the demonstrations in Charlottesville.

We will be providing medical and other emergency evacuation, escorts, mental health check ins, medics, and legal support prioritizing POC, disabled folks, queer folks and the underprepared. Due to the occasional front line nature of the support we are set on providing, costs for safety equipment and supplies are mounting, and funds are getting tight. SHAQ rarely fundraises, and the vast majority of our activities are funded out of pocket by our working class members. Unfortunately the costs for this situation have already exceeded what we're capable of individually and we need your help to defray some of the costs of water, safety gear, transportation, medical supplies, lost time at work, and potential legal costs both for ourselves and others.

It is imperative that we protect ourselves and our communities as we gear up for a long term struggle against the rising tide of neofascism.  This is not the end. This is not the climax. This is one conflict among many to come, and we must ensure that our friends and comrades stay as safe as possible while we build capacity and work towards a future we can survive.

Update #1

Thank you all so much for all the love and support we've received over the past few days. The past few days have been intensely emotional for all of us, and while we are all mostly ok physically (no major injuries) and we aren't expecting any legal trouble to come of this, it has still been a trying time for us.

The messages of support we've been receiving and the continued flow of donations are amazingly heartwarming. We have received more than enough to cover our costs from A12, and couldn't love yall more.

Any additional donations we get going forward will be going into our general funds for continued action, both in the streets and for other projects to provide safety and infrastructure for long term queer resistance against fascism, capitalism and the state.

Thank you so much for your support and we will continue to do our best to keep folks safe, healthy, and in the fight.

Rest in peace Heather. We will fight with you in our hearts every day.
