I am fundraising for my wife and kids. My wife has Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I want our boys to know there will be difference even with momma being sick.
lHi, my name is Sarah. I am a mother to two handsome “step” sons; Lane who is 11 and Mason who is 8. I am also happily married to my best friend Julie West for almost 5 years now. Everything was great, life had finally cut us a break, until it didn’t. My wife had felt a lump in her breast for a while that would cause her pains and she didn’t think much of it. Until it was too much. So she went for her annual mammogram at Fort Hamilton, they checked her and even rechecked her. And told her that her lump was nothing to worry about. Well 3 years later this lump is back to bothering her and this time she’s goes to a different doctor.. well they do the usual the mammogram and the rescan. They didn’t like the way it looked...so they decided to do a biopsy....and that’s when my wife was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. When she found out she had the same cancer as her niece and cousin before her. That’s when she decided to get the Genetic testing done to see if she carried the BRCA gene. She has been doing chemo treatments every 2wks for 6wks now. We have about 14wks of chemo left and that’s including chemo once a week, every week. We’re doing this for not only medicinal and medical needs for her, but it will also help us and ours boys when she’s out of work during this time. All money donated will be going towards her chemo and upcoming surgeries. And as you can imagine chemo itself is expensive, about $4,000 every treatment. Now, since we’ve found out she does have the BCRA gene...She will also be having a double mastectomy and hysterectomy about 4/5wks following chemo to prevent recurrence of the cancer. I am making this fundraiser because yes there will be a benefit in her honor(if you want details about that please write me), but also because there are so many people who may not be able to come that want to help. In addition to that, her story needs to be spread and told far and wide. We have two beautiful boys who need to know their lives will NOT change because their momma is sick. That they will NOT know the burden of such a heavy illness and will NOT go without! So please even if you can’t donate, just click the share button or even just comment and leave some positive words and prayers. Anything and everything is appreciated and accepted with nothing, but gratitude. Please have a wonderful day and thank you for taking the time out of your day to read our story.
