I Am raising money to help my mother and father in law in Ukraine. They have lost everything twice. First in the 2014 Donbas war and now with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Hello everyone, my name is Ryan and my wife Liza is from Ukraine. We are trying to raise money to help her parents who have lost everything twice in the past 8 years. Liza came to the US back in 2014 on the work and travel program for students, by the end of the summer she had no home to return to. Her home town was occupied by the Russian and Chechen military. Her family had to hide in bunkers for weeks from all the shooting and explosions. Her mother and grandfather had a chance to get out and were able to flee. Her father was supposed to come a few days later but was captured by the separatists and Russian military. He was held in a basement where the questioned and beat him for days. It has been 8 years since then and they have been rebuilding their life since they had to leave their home and all their belongings behind. Liza’s old college roommate and her mother took in my in-laws and provided them with a place to stay. They had been saving their money to buy a new place but then the pandemic put them a couple years behind. They recently purchased their home in a city named Boryspil which is about 10 minutes outside of Kyiv. They once again had to flee back to Liza’s friends home because of the Russian invasion and have now lost everything again. They are as safe as can be in Ukraine but are considering fleeing to Poland. We are raising money to help them survive and rebuild. We appreciate all the support and prayers. Thank you.
