From Cara Carter

I'm trying to raise money to add transport and debris removal services to help my business recover from the changing economy and several devastating events.

I knew the title would grab your attention! Well, it's not exactly how it sounds.

My name is C.D Carter, owner of C. D. Carter Property Solutions, LLC a single-entity, woman-owned small business. CD Carter Property Solutions was established to provide notary and permit expediting services for construction contractors. For practical purposes, I chose the real estate umbrella as my industry so that I could offer a bevy of services related to that in the future such as home staging, property management, interior design, consulting, landscaping, and outside facility maintenance such as pressure washing and sanitation services. The pandemic slowed down the progress of what I initially wanted to do but the addition of online notaries, that eliminated the need for my mobile services, and contractors now hire a minimum wage employee to run and pull their permits, so I had to pivot to add transport & debris removal services; industries that are pandemic, recession, and climate-proof.

I am raising funding for the purchase of (4) roll-off trucks and (8) dumpsters, capital to pay for operating costs such as payroll, licensing, insurance, a land purchase, to house and store trucks and dumpsters, and a modular unit for office space. The monies are needed to properly start and scale the business.

I also need funding for the purchase of (2) refrigerated trucks, for now, to quickly give 2 OTR drivers the opportunity to help feed their families. I have a 16-year veteran that will help facilitate the training, management, and dispatching of these operators. With my background as a safety professional, I will ensure that our operation is in compliance. There is a shortage of OTR drivers and refrigerated trucks are essential to support our food chain supply. There is a plethora of loads that need to be transported so the ability to generate sales, makes this too a low-risk start-up. I expect to scale the business within a year.

I registered my business in Jan 2021 but was working a full-time job that had excruciating hours leaving no time to really cultivate the business. I experienced violations of respectful workplace guidelines by an upper management employee which led me ultimately to resign from a job and career I loved. At that point, I decided to focus on my business so I prematurely cashed out my retirement to pay off all my bills so that I would have no debt and perfect credit to obtain business funding. Well, that didn't happen. I was denied repeatedly for one reason or another; my business was too new, I didn't have enough employees, I didn't have enough sales, my business banking account was too new, my business credit profile was weak, and I didn't have any installment loans on my personal credit even though I had just paid everything off. I had an exemplary credit history, near-perfect personal credit, and no debt but I couldn't even get a stick of chewing gum.

I would like to be able to have something to celebrate for my 57th birthday on September 15.

I was a single mother that worked all the time, scraped, and scrounged for years to get myself in a good position, and in 3 months, POOF!!, back to square 1. If you can find it in your heart to help, I would appreciate it and I will pay it forward to someone else when they are in need.  Thanks for listening, I need your support.
