Help me raise awareness for CAN by hiking Mt Everest!

From Jane Chynoweth

I'm attempting a world record for ‘The World's Highest Dinner Party’ on Mt Everest at 7,020m (23,000ft) in April and raising awareness and funds for the Community Action Nepal project.

The expedition is being led by Neil Laughton who has set numerous records including being the one who took Bear Grylls to the top of Everest. The dinner in question will be a Black tie event with an amazing high-altitude menu, designed by Sat Bains - a two Michelin-starred chef!

Those of you who know me well, know that this experience is going to push my physical and mental boundaries (…and ultimately challenge the boundaries of my wardrobe, as I struggle to find an appropriate outfit!?). In anticipation of this four-week expedition, I am currently training in technical alpine climbs, training for a half-marathon and attempting to prepare for living in high altitudes (help!). Some photos of my most recent trip to Mount Washington (NH) are attached for your entertainment.

Our expedition is also busy raising awareness and money to donate to the Community Action Nepal project, a mountaineers’ charity to help mountain people raise their standard of living and strengthen indigenous, community-based culture. The team has an ambitious goal of raising £100,000 (~$135k), of which I am personally attempting to crowdfund a lofty $5K.

If you are interested in supporting me, please donate via this fundly page (or directly to through the expedition page). Know that no matter how big or small your donation, we appreciate every single penny!
