We're raising money to turn Research and Conversations About Bipolar Disorder into a non-profit organization to provide more benefits and services to our members!
Research and Conversations About Bipolar Disorder started out as a side project in May of 2020 to get people talking about the newest science in bipolar disorder to help educate people about the illness and work on fighting the stigma attached to it. Within the first month we only had 100 members but 8 months later we have a 3,400 members, a 425% growth rate, and that number is continuing to grow every day! Just in the last month alone we've had an 18% growth rate! We have found that we can provide much more to our members than just peer reviewed articles and the occasional psychoeducation course. We're forming a non-profit organization to employ guest speakers at the top of the field of psychiatry for bipolar disorder to give lectures every month, a referral service for members to find psychiatrists and therapists that will work with their budget whether you have insurance or not, and we are going to recruit a group of consulting psychiatrists to charge minimal fees to help our members get the best second opinions possible for prices they can afford. In order to get these services off the ground, we need your support. We are currently taking the steps to become a non-profit organization, which requires upfront costs. The money would go to:
-The incorporation fee
-A legal registered agent
-The filing fee
- The legal representation for paperwork
-Payment for guest speakers
-Merchandise for members
-The cost to create the network of consulting psychiatrists
-Mood journals based off of the NIMH Life Chart Methodology
