The cartilage and bone in both my right and left knee are crumbling and the doctors don't know why. I need two stairlifts to get around my house (a split foyer) on my own.
My name is Logan. I'm 13 years old. I am quirky. I play trumpet in the band, I am an honor student, I love to swing upside down (before I was broken anyway) and I have autism. My favorite animal is a sloth. Which is kind of funny since I can only move at the speed of a sloth now. Although, I can be pretty speedy in my wheelchair.
One day in April my left knee started to hurt. Within a few days, it was swollen to the size of Bob Ross' hair! I went to the hospital and found out that the cartilage in my knee and the bone behind it were falling apart like a Jenga tower. Three surgeries later, the doctors still have no idea what is causing it, and now it has spread to my right leg.
Getting around my house has become more challenging than trying to understand politics. My parents just finished redoing my bathroom so I can wheel right up to the shower. But, between the surgeries and renovations, it is getting really expensive.
Right now I am sitting and scooting up the stairs like a toddler to get into my house. (Just picture a 5 foot 10 teenager scooting up the stairs on his butt, it isn't as funny as it sounds.) But after my next surgery, my leg won't be strong enough to help me. My dream is to wheel through the door and actually be able to go up the stairs on my own!
I created this go fund me to pay for two stairlifts and help my parents out.
