Hello friends! For the last several weeks I've been at Polish border with Ukraine distributing humanitarian aid and providing transport to the refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. To continue this, I need your support!
As we speak, the largest refugee crisis since World War II is unfolding in Europe due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In the last month, over 10 million people have been displaced in Ukraine, with over 4 million fleeing the country, and that number is expected to continue rising as the war continues.
For the last several weeks I've been volunteering with Caritas Poland on the Polish-Ukrainian border in the border town of Dorohusk, carrying out an array of tasks:
-Using a rental car to provide emergency transport to refugee families crossing the border to their places of refuge in Poland
-Unloading trucks full of provision coming from around the world and loading them onto humanitarian aid convoys being sent into Ukraine
-Distributing food, water, coffee, medicine, clothes and supplies to refugees as they make it to border
-Assisting refugees with other various needs, such as immigration advice for various European and Western countries
In order to continue doing this vital work, I need your help!
Donations will be used to continue renting a car to provide much needed transport to refugees.
Excess funds will be used to purchase needed provisions for individual refugees on a case by case basis. Prior examples of this discretionary spending have included:
-Sneakers for a group of mothers who arrived with little more than their babies
Baby food and groceries for a large family who were nearly completely out of supplies
-Components to build a new car charging family who escaped the war in their electric car only to cross the border and realize they had forgotten the cable
-A guitar for a sing-songwriter who was unable to take her when she fled but desperately wanted to continue creating her music. (See the included video of her playing her new guitar we purchased her in Poland)
