My wife, JK, and I are trying raising money for nursing and support services, while she undergoes outpatient chemo-therapy. Please excuse our cryptic names, but we are trying to avoid cyber-stalking.
JK, my wife, best friend and love of 13 years has been diagnosed with a terminal illness – but we were recently given hope in the form of an aggressive new chemotherapy!
JK has been a bone marrow transplant survivor since childhood, but she’s got a positive outlook and fighting spirit. She’s also still in her 30’s so, If anyone can beat this, she can!
JK is one of the kindest, most caring people that you will ever meet – always full of sparkles and magic. My family and I love her so much that you can hardly imagine! Her battle will be difficult, and we want her to have what she needs to beat this.
The challenge is that, for now, she lives on her own, in another state, so she will need months of help with nursing and other support services at home, while she is incapacitated from the treatment. Some of the non-medical support that she will need is grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and dog walking – all of which become extremely challenging while experiencing the weakness, nausea, dizziness, disorientation, and pain that comes with the treatment.
In addition to being an all-around wonderful human being, who brings cheer, even to the to the hearts of complete strangers, JK is a fairly accomplished woman. A graduate of UC Berkeley, a small business owner for many years and, more recently, a therapist for children and adults with severe autism.
If you'd like to help, our family and all of JK's friends would be forever grateful. Thank you!
