Jelena Despotovski is an amazing childhood friend, a wonderful, caring, hardworking mom of 2 young kids, who lives in Pancevo, Serbia.
After going through very difficult times in her young adulthood, losing her mom to cancer was devastating. Several years later, her sister went through a very difficult cancer battle and lost her life, leaving behind 2 young children of her own. Just as Jelena and her dad started to put the pieces of their lives together again, Jelena starting a young family of her own, she received terrifying news that she too will have to fight the same battle her mom and sister had tragically lost.
She has been fighting relentlessly, with such incredible strength and persistence, but the disease has been aggressive. Starting as breast cancer, it has evolved to affect areas of the bone. She now has the opportunity to receive what could be a life saving treatment in Athens, Greece; in the form of "radio surgery Cyber knife & Thomo Therapy". This treatment costs $25,000, she has already depleted any family savings with previous treatments and began selling off personal belongings to fund this treatment which she is scheduled to receive June 2023.
