A huge Thank You to everyone who has donated. We have made the first 2 payments and are coming up on the third one . We should also be receiving her Bahamas flight info some time soon.
ANNNNDDD.......within the next 2 days, 356 sports will be announcing the winners for the financial scholarships. There are 7 scholarships ranging from $250 up to $1000 that are up for grabs. Jaya had to submit an application and write an small essay on something that has influenced her life (positive or negative way) and how it has shaped her into who she is today. SOOOO fingers crossed for Jaya! Thanks again for supporting our girl!

Update #2

My name is Jaya Scott, and I am a 10th grade student athlete at Central Lafourche High School in Raceland, La. I was recently selected by 365 Sports to participate in the Atlantis Bahamas Tropical Shootout in August of 2019 to represent the United States.

This opportunity is not open to everyone, nor advertised.I have been nominated and selected based upon my athletic abilities, academic achievements and leadership potential. The selection process involves a nomination or invitation, receiving recommendations from coaches and a thorough interview process. I am part of an exclusive group representing America’s best and brightest! Being selected for this program is a significant honor. As a participant I will train with professional and collegiate coaches, explore the Bahamas and learn about their culture, improve my exposure for a scholarship by attending the NCAA Exposure Training Camp, compete with top athletes through out the world in the sport of basketball, and most importantly represent my school and community on an international field.

The program tuition is $3,000, which includes:
-2 nights Raleigh training camp
-4 nights lodging at Paradise Island Comfort Suites
-Roundtrip air transportation Raleigh/Nassau
-air transportation from La. to Raleigh/from Florida to La.
-Internal transfers by chartered motorcoach
-breakfast daily
-other meals and drinks
-welcome ceremony
-competing in Bahamas Invitational International Tournament
-USA uniform (shoes and travel suit included)
-daily access to Atlantis Resort water park
-excursion to straw market & downtown Nassau
-spending money
-passport

In order to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity, I need your support. Currently, I am requesting support from individuals and businesses to help alleviate the financial cost. I will work hard at obtaining my goal of traveling to the Bahamas this summer, & I hope that you will be willing to give my request serious consideration.
Sincerely,
Jaya Scott
