As a result to the soon opening of eviction courts and my rental billing rising I'm hoping to be able to lean on community for support. My landlord has already called saying she will start the process as soon as she can.
My name is Izzy J. I am a 22 year old freelance photographer and food service worker.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic I was released from my full time food service job in March due to drop in sales and the business went bankrupt late May, dismissing hope of future work from them after the pandemic.
I’ve been living in my apartment for the last 3 going on 4 years. I live alone leaving no one to help balance bills. Despite looking for work and rental assistance I have been unable to meet my financial needs. After applying to unemployment twice with no avail I lean on community to help assist me in this time.
After receiving a call from my landlord letting my know they will proceed on the eviction process once the courts open back up in the next few months I am fearful of losing housing. Due to my financial restrictions I’ve been unable to pay rent for the last 3 months and fear it’ll be on going especially with the drop in work opportunities due to the pandemic.
What your donations will provide:
• assistance in paying off the $2,700 of owed rent (March-June)
• assistance to pay of rent for the upcoming three months as I continue to look for work and hope to receive unemployment
• remaining funds will go directly to utilities
